oil pressure

my friend has an ls1 and his oil is synthetic, he has the correct amount in it, but when he starts the car and revs to around 2k the oil pressure goes to 70 or a lil bit more...idk if that normal for an ls1, his car hasnt done this before just started recently...no weird motor noises tick or knock...anyones else have this kinda pressure???
what do you other guys experience???
thanks

Re: oil pressure

That does seem kind of high. I don't think mine ever sees 70, even in the winter. I am running 3 quarts of 10w-40, and 2 quarts of 15w-50, all of it being fully synthetic german castrol syntec. I definetly have some thick oil in there. What weight is the oil he is running?

Re: oil pressure

Mine cold idles at about 62 psi, hot idles at about 42 psi, and will get above 70 psi by 3000 rpms.

Re: oil pressure

To Daniel, I guess that is normal for some ls1s, so I would tell him not to worry about it too much unless its continues to keep rising.

00cls1camaross, how is synthetic oil not oil? I don't think I am understanding you.
