Oil Light

All right when I bought my Trans Am I didn't have a book to tell me how to erase an oil light so my question is how to do it I have a 99 Trans Am.

Turn the ignition on, but dont start the car. Press the trip reset button and hold it for about 15 seconds until the light goes off. It says in the manual how to do it also.

You can also turn the key to the On position, then press the gas pedal 5 times and on the fifth press, hold for 5 seconds, turn key off and then start the car. The change oil light should only come on for a brief second as all the rest of the gauge lights.
