AC Delco PF44. If you are paying more, what brand are you using? The only other easily available one I would use that costs more would be the Mobil 1 filter...

The K&N HP2006 is a great filter that flow better than the Mobil1-206. Once I replaced the Mobil 1 to the K&N, the oil pressure is higher and that is a good thing. The K&N Filter great too and is less restrictive to oil flow.

Well it makes sense to me to use a Mobil1 filter designed to work with the Mobil1 oil.

When you said $3 filter all I could envision was a discount store brand because we can not get ACs for $3 around here.

If changing the filter made the oil pressure go up then get it off of there fast.
Pressure is a direct result of resistance to flow. So the K&N is flowing less

How about a filter that costs $1.97? Wal-Mart Supertech brand oil filters are made by Champion Labs, who makes some of the best (and more expensive) filters out there. Ask Patman how good these are for the price...

And yes, check out www.bobistheoilguy.com. You'll find a lot of good info on oil, oil filter, and oil change intervals there... if you're changing your synthetic oil before 5k-6k, then it's really not worth the price of the synthetic since you're not getting the most out of it.

I change mine every 6k or every 6 months, whichever comes first... and for me, it's 6 months since my Z28 is only driven a couple of times a week.

I'm in agreement with all the NON 3k miles or 3 month guys. I change mine every 5k miles or 5-6 months.
