Question O2 sims, do they work?

I was interested in cutting out my cats on my LS1, but one of my friends told me to watch out for the sims. Do they work well? Has anyone had any problems with them?
Thanks

The sims work fine. The computer is looking for a certain signal from the rear O2 sensors, and the sims make that signal. No worries. Why gut your cats? Full header setup, OK. But to just gut your cats on your stock or cat back system will not make much difference other than in the environment. No, I am not a tree hugger, but if it don't hurt.....

I think it might give him a couple of extra horsys. Not the best bang for the buck modification, but alot of people do it.

I figured since I didn't have the money for the headers, that I could just cut the cats out and that would help. I do my own welding and such so it wouldn't cost me much. Either way, I might as well just wait for the money to do the headers.

If you wanna get rid of the cats, just invest in an aftermarket catless Y-pipe. It replaces the stock one with the kinks and flat pipe, and gets rid of the cats at the same time.

well since you dont gain anything by changing tthe y-pipe and leaving the cats that might lead some people to believe that just removing the cats will make more power..

In michigan since we dont have emission testing about %95 of all cars that are raced do not have cats. It was one of tthe first things to go on my cars..

Also you pick up a few HP and a few LBS-FT of TQ.

So yeah if you wanna make a couple more horsies and make the car sounds better..

And yes simms are needed.. obviously.

we dont need a discussion hyjacked about something that wasnt even asked.

So to answer the question.

They work.
