No oil pressure

Well my brother has a 99 SS and the other day when he fired up the car it said check gauges. Then he noticed he had no oil pressure. Now my question is how do i hook up a mechanical gauge to make sure its not the gauge and second how would we go about changing the oil pump. I havent looked at his car yet. I popped my hood ( 00 Z28) and tried looking for a place to put a mechanical gauge but didnt see one. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Rich

The oil pressure sensor is behind the intake on the drivers side, pita to get too/remove with the intake on unless you have a special socket (you can get one at your local parts store). Can't miss it, it screws in vertically and has a connector at the top. Good luck, hope it's the sensor.
