No help needed..just questions..

I think I just spun a bearing in my LT1. After many years in the LT1 Help section..I was amazed at the influx of tire, and rim questions in LS1 tech. . What are the problem areas?? Are there any? Im looking at LS1 power now... and im curious. Thanks!!

Cool

Do you mean just with LS1 engines or LS1 F-bodies in general?

LS1 is pretty much a rock solid engine, except maybe for piston slap and oil consumption, but they don't really have any effect on the longevity.

Earlier models (98's?) had some problems with oil pump, I think.

But that's about it. No opti, no intake manifold leaks etc.

Non-engine related problems are warped OEM rotors and leaking rear pinion seal. Not much else.

Sorry to hear that...

I had my LT1 for 2 years and from 74K to 114K and the only major issue was water pump. And the previous owner hadn't done anything big, either. I guess I got lucky.

Good luck with your earch!
