New respect for the corvette!
ok are you guys all friggin stupid??
DID YOU READ MY POST earlier in this thread?
LOOK AT THE TIMES!!
THE F-BODIES BEAT THE VETTES!!
I'm not implying that the F-body is better than the vette, but all you who are saying that the f-body cant handle are freakin retarded.
The difference is that is it MUCH easier for your average driver to handle in a vette. The f-body requires a better driver to turn in the same times.....but the point is THE F-BODY CAN HOLD ITS OWN.
Anyone who says different....find me some data proving that f-bodies suck.
Dont get me wrong, if i could afford it, i would have gotten a vette. But its not like the vette is the be-all and end-all of domestic handling....
My FIRST time out at AutoX, i turned in better raw times than 3 Z06's and 4 or 5 C5's. A couple were first-timers also, and a few werent.
If you say the f-body cant handle, its just cause YOU cant drive

Unless you do the majority of your driving on a track, track results are meaningless. My 4th gen handles great on smooth roads, but throw in some mid turn bumps, and the tail is all over the place.
For real-world driving, the Camaro sucks compared to the Vette. The live axle design has a HUGE unsprung-to-sprung weight ratio.
If you compare the front to rear weight balance in terms of SPRUNG mass, you will see the Camaro is an unbalanced design.
Do the same comparison for a Vette, and the weight balance is the same, regardless if you look at total weight or sprung weight.

For a live axle, it doesn't get much better.
A coworker and mustang fanatic told me about a car he saw in one of the mustang rags - it had a custom rear suspension with a torque arm, panhard rod, and a pair of links on each side. He went on to say how it was such a great improvement over the stock mustang suspension. I told him that my camaro has the exact suspension, stock, and that even the 3rd gens have it. He didn't believe me, so I took him outside, and had him look at my camaro's suspension. After a moment of denial, he decided that it wasn't that much of an improvement over the stock mustang suspension! He didn't talk any more about his mustang after that.
