New muffler on stock center exhaust?

I have a 2001 SS with the factory center exhaust package. I want to keep the center exhaust, but I miss the throaty, deep sound I used to have with my Borla on my '97Z. Can I replace just the muffler and keep the rest stock? If so, any recommendations or sites to check out?

Thanks!

Yeah you can add just about any cat back to the CME. I did the GMMG.

yes you can switch out the muffler, however ls1s don't sound similar to lt1s, they tend to be quiter at idle. I'd try going with the loudmouth it'll liven things up a bit.
