Red face Poly mount! Ya'll were right about em lol

So yeah, I get my poly mount on a few min ago. I back it out of the driveway, then slowly accelerate down the street. The whole steering wheel vibrates. I'm like ok no biggie, as I get goin a lil faster, many of the squeeks/rattles that my subframes cured start to come back. Ok...next. I get on a back road, and do a nice WOT run. HOLY CRAP! I thought my tranny was gonna fall off and my car was gonna break into pieces! It shook SOOOO BAD!!!

I sure hope this puppy breaks in after 500 miles or so, otherwise my stock mount is gonna be goin back on. Either that or I'll get a 1LE mount... btw will 1LE's fit on '02's? Installuniversity says they might not fit. I don't see why though, same tranny/crossmember.

From what I understand, the 1LE trans mount replaced the standard crappy mount we all know and hate; which if true is the mount your car was equipped with when you bought it.

hmm...

maybe I tightened the single bolt on the crossmember too tight? Is that possible? It says 77 ft-lb... my stupid torque wrench has inch-lb though, so i did it to like 920 in-lb or so. I could barely with all my strength get it that tight though... that sure seemed like a hella lot of torque to tighten it to, considering the original nut wasn't that hard to get off. Maybe I tightened it too much and it compressed the mount so it's even stiffer How tight did u tighten yours too?

That seems like a pretty high number.. but your convesion is right.. 77 ft-lb = 924 in-lb. So dont know what to tell you.. but something is for sure wrong!

I had one when I had my LT1 and it wasn't near as bad as you are talking. After 1000 or so miles it wasn't much worse than stock.

I put the poly mount in stick 98s car, I didn't use a torque wrench so I couldn't say how tight but just a good pull on the wrench. I was amazed on how smooth his is, I've done that on both of my f bods and they've added a bit of vibration but he's actually seemed to smooth out a bit.......weird
