new mastercylinder needed with clutch change?
gonna be swapping in a Spec 4 w/ new flywheel and an upgraded slave cylinder soon.
is a new mastercylinder needed? the Mcloud is $300....
is it needed or just something nice to have so you can adjust the pedal?

If you don't get an adjustable one, I was told you want to at least do the drill mod.

Re: new mastercylinder needed with clutch change?
I have the spec III and left the stock master in there. If I had to do it again though, I'd buy an adjustable master...right now, it engages way too high (the pedal) for my liking. You can always take a chance and just leave the stock one in...and if you don't like it, then buy the McLeod.
Since you have a '99, I'd definitely replace the slave with an '01-'02.
Oh and if you do replace the master, make sure you've got someone else there to help you...that U-bolt is a PITFA.
