Needle bearings in oil
Needle bearings in oil
Allright, This is not exactly an F-body but it's an LS2 6.0L from a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. I went and had my oil changed today and they found 6 of these things in my oil when they drained it. It looks like a needle bearing, question is, what could this be from?

Any ideas would be helpful. It's my work truck so I'll just run it into the ground but I would like to know what it is

It is about 1/4" long, I don't know anything about the LS2, does it have roller rockers standard? Rockers have these needle bearings?
Yes it is out of warranty. Warranty is 35K and it has 41K. I've already had to have the company replace the battery as it died at 38K.

They said when the drained the oil they just drained out with it. This doesn't appear to be magnetic.
No there isn't any noises coming from the motor yet.
Found this pic on another site - LS1 needle bearings definitely magnetic.

This would be true if it was my Vehicle. But this is under a fleet Maintenanace plan and I just don't have the time to be out of work for the week while the dealer fixes it. Plus messing around with Lease Plan is a big pain in the ***.
