Need a quick question answered.. please

Ok well its late at night and I don't really feel like going outside and looking but.. does anyone by chance know what size pipe a 2001 Camaro SS would have? Coming from the manifolds I mean, it is 3" or 2.5"?

Was going to buy a new muffler online, but wasn't quite sure.

I thought our exhaust was 3-inch and it only necks down to 2.75 where it meets the y-pipe? That would explain why the system on my new car leaks if your right Al.

To answer your question (even though I think flowmaster sux), get the 3 inch and then you can by a 3in-to-2.75in reducer to make it fit better.

Oh I'm quite sure of this. You guys need to realize that I bought a 98 SS new and have been on the boards ever since, more than 8 years. Was on LS1.com at it's beginning when I could go read all the new posts in an hour. Was on LS1tech thru all 3 of it iterations. I didn't modify the SS too much and turned it back to stock when the wife bought it from me. But if you look at the sig my Formy is far from stock. I've done all of the work on my carr so when I say something is something I'm usually speaking from direct experience. Not just passing on somebody elses "I thinks".

As to you muffler comments. Ditto, don't get a Flomaster and get a 3" whateverothermufflerintheworld.

You should be used to people second guessing you by now Al... Most of these people werent around when everyone was first learning the basics. Sure doesnt seem like 8+ years to me tho.

Not really second guessing you there Al. Just more surprised that I didn't know that one already. Been an LS1 owner since '99 myself. Went through a couple iterations too.
