everything was fairly easy till we had to put the Y-pipe on the stock exhaust pipe because the flanged part is EXACTLY the same size as the Y-pipeso if you can figure that out its easy just time consuming. look for a write up/install on hooker headers since they are the same thing for 1/2 the price

ive searched from here to jabibsville trying to find a write up and nothing...tons of pics of both setups which is great but only half the battle....and tips here and there about jacking up the car enough to slid in the drivers side header so it clears even the starter...take off the oil filter boss...all that is fine but it would be nice to have one person state the same thing and point out what the oil filter boss is to smoe people that might not know or for that matter a starter...remember lots of 16-17 year olds arent like you and may not know what all this stuff does and get scared off by projects like this instead of even trying to tackle them themselves...i probably wouldve saved myself 10 grand for all the money ive spent on installs from headers, to hpipes, ypipes, cats, gears and the like...I know its nice to see people do writeups rather then a horror story here and there that scares them away.

i just looked at it as one step at a time

take the coilpacks off
the valvecovers
the sparkglugs
the steering arm
the manifolds

then reverse it with the LT's

BTW, you might hafta jack up the engine a few inches to wiggle the passenger side header in but honestly the hardest part was outsmarting the Y-pipe.

make sure to have a partner though, it makes it alot easier

So what is a boss, exactly? I'm not mocking you or being an a$$ either. What is a boss? Is that the thing the oil filter screws onto?

Thanks!

take off the wires and plugs unbolt the air tubed unbolt the cat back then unbolt the cats take off y and cats then unbolt manifolds and reverse with long tubes. Also pacesetters are very nice but don't get there y pipe it fits like ***. if you can have a shop make them go that route or jet hot makes a catted y pipe that will fit.

yup thats the boss its also a removable piece usually held in by two torx screws. Sometimes they have provisions for lines going out of it which can make things so easy when installing a blower or turbo hehe some people have said theyve had to take it off to get more access room for the headers...thats the only reason i brought it up.
