How much et did you get from the 100 shot?

It depends when you spray it. Obviously right out of the hole is going to drastically reduce your ET and increase MPH, while spraying in 2nd or 3rd is going to drastically increase MPH, but not reduce ET too much.

My buddy went out to the track a few years back when we both had LT1s and he had a heads/cam auto daily driver with a 3600 stall and shorty headers with a cut-out that was making 390 or so at the wheels. He strapped a 150 shot on and went to work.. after his motor-only 12.27@113 run, he sprayed it in 2nd gear and went something like a 11.80 @ 122 mph with a 1.7x 60'. I kept screaming at him from the pits "SPRAY THAT BITCH OUTTA THE ****ING HOLE!!! SPRAY THAT MOTHER****ER!!!!!!!!"

He sprayed it out of the hole on the next run and pulled a wheel and went 11.17@125 on a 1.5x 60'

I spent alot of time getting the car to work with the N/A power and 18" drag radial. The car just does not hook when spraying out of the hole, and I think that's because of both the converter and tires. I did manage one pass spraying after the 2nd gear shift and picked up only .3 and 6 MPH. (10.68 @ 130.5)

You have the PT4000 right? What is your shift RPM set at? Unless you're light, you may need to see 7000+ even on a 100 shot.

Just go with some 28" MT ET Drags and you'll dead hook all day and not have to worry about spinning the engine too high.... Hell, some guys are even going 8s on the ET Street Radials because they hook so ridiculously.

Sorry, no drag tires for me. I run a 305/35r18 ET Street Radial at the track because that's what I run on the street daily. I've got a street car, and have no intention of turning it into a race car. No trailers, no drag wheels and tires, no monkey bars, none of that BS for me. I bet with a different converter I could get this car to hook on the hit when spraying and go 10.30s or so, but I like the current converter too much

Yeah I have that converter and I shift early on the 1-2 @ 6200. I hold 2nd to 6600 and with the 275-60x15 drag radials go thru the traps @ 6300.

And my raceweight is 3340lbs.

If you're shifting at those RPMs, even with a light car you might blow through the converter. At 3700lbs mine (also a PT4000) flashes to 5300 RPM on motor, and around 5700 on the 100 shot. You may want to call Yank for an opinion before you spray.

My 4k was flashing to almost 6k and never dropped below 6200 for the whole pass (everyine thought that I had a powerglide) so I sent it back to Yank for a rebuild and to be tightened up. It only flashes to about 4500 or so on motor now so I might be OK.
