Exclamation My 99 A4 LS1 dyno numbers..

This was on a Mustang Dyno.

308 RWHP 323 RWTQ

Mods: SLP lid, e-cutout and TB bypass.

What exactly is the diff. between the mustang and dynojet dyno?

Nice numbers.

Were both runs with the cutout open?

Yeah the cutout was open both times. My first run was 298 rwhp 317 rwtq. The second run is whats posted above.

the mustang dyno incorporates an EDDY CURRENT BRAKE to 'simulate' the vehicle's weight. that way it takes into account trying to move the vehicle. as far as accuracy goes, numbers are number, and you must know the exact weight of the vehicle. i took my 86 TA to a mustang dyno to see what happens by changing the weight. by increasing the weight by 500 lbs, i gained hp and tq. go figure.

graph here

in this instance, the mustang dyno shows more hp than the two dynojets i was on. normally it's the other way around.

dynojet blue line

here's how horsepower is calculated. mr. watt never went back and said let's oil the block and tackle. or add sand to it. never added any more weight. or subtracted it either. even NASCAR uses the dynojet to measure engine's horsepower on the cars.

side note: my wife's 99 formy put up 285 hood closed and 295 hood up. stock with borla catback only
hood closed vs hood open

Nice numbers
Most of the time a mustang will put out less than a dynojet, but as mrr23 showed us, sometimes it doesn't happen like that. But remember, all that matters is that slip for the track

Nice numbers. I put out 291/297 on a dynojet with only a lid/filter and muffler.

What a difference in our power and 1/4-mile times.

You dynoed lower than me with the same mods (except the filter), are probably a hair heavier, but ran a better time than me at the track.

Granted it was 80 degrees out when I ran yesterday and I can't lanuch well, but it goes to show you that some cars don't need power to get good times.

I guess the black ones are faster.

Yes, sir. They are

And I might have been a little more than a "tad" heavier. Not sure if you did any weight reduction, but I had all the seats in, never took out the spare/jack, never dropped the front sway, and had heavy *** 17X11 chromies on all 4 corners

But yeah, I'm sure your 80* weather hurt. It was in the low 60s high 50s when I got those times. Track prep was crap though.

I like dyno numbers.. More often than not it lets people compare cars, engine builds and whatnot regardless of driver..

1 good driver can makeup for 50hp vs a bad driver..

I have beaten a Z06 at the track but they switched drivers and while I still got him off the tree, he was better than the previous driver and was able to pull the win on me..

Track is more of a fun way to play with said power.. but if you dont have any tracks near you and still want to know how your car or its mods compare to others then dynos are an ok way to do so..

This Wednesday I am pitting my driving skills against many of the areas Mach1 owners.. They are having an unofficial Mach 1 vs the world at the track for bracket racing night.. Should be fun..
I just need to get a few people beat so I can shut them up..

Ohh my Dynojet numbers are 318/337 still bone stock down to the paper (cause its better) filter.
getting more dyno pulls soon..

Does anyone know if dynojet has a website where you can do a search for a local dyno or do you have to call around some local speed shops.

Edit: found it http://www.dynojet.com/ldynocntr.shtml
