mti R1 cam

im curious bout this cam. i believe the specs are 232/236. i just wonder why more people arent running this cam. it seems like everybody is running 23xish/23xish size cams but not this one. anybody know how much hp this would put down on an A4 with stock heads and all the bolt ons?

Re: mti R1 cam

stock heads it should put you around 400hp.

it's a similar cam to the torquer i run, and i'm at about that through and m6. so with the slightly higher exhaust duration you may pick up the difference since you have the a4.

Cost and popularity. More people run them in Houston I'd imagine.

Re: mti R1 cam

just for reference...i put in the first version of the Torquer cam...

full boltons and dyno tune...382hp

granted the clutch was slipping, but it seemed to happen before the peak in the hp curve.
