Hey guys,
You might remember one of my other posts about my car having a power loss. Well I took it to the dealer and they said nothings wrong with it and it has all the power it should. But I'm the one that drives it every day and i'm telling you theres a difference. It wont spin the tires hardly, and it doesnt throw you back in the seat. I've only had this car for 3 weeks, half of which it was perfect and fast as hell.
Well now, when its cold, it grinds bad going into 2nd gear, and when you go into 3rd, it sputters and jerks for a few seconds. After its warmed up it doesnt grind that much but you CAN feel it in the shifter a little.
Its going back YET AGAIN to the dealership next week, but this time i'm taking it to a different dealer.
My questions....What do I do if the dealership wont help me, where do I turn for help? Also, do all 6 speeds make noises and clunks, or only defunkt ones?? WHATS GOING ON WITH MY DREAM CAR?!?!?!? Any help and suggestions is appreciated.

ok my 6 speed is smooth as glass. in all gear changes, hot or cold . dealerships suck!! i will never ever take my car to one. but you have no chioce . i gusse this is all warranty work? mine will spin tires all the way down the road . and put you back in your seat at the same time. good luck , i hope they will do something for you.

 

Two weeks ago this car was exactly how you just described. But then it just stopped, i dont know how else to describe it. After the initial first few minutes of cold driving, the engine doesnt stutter or shake or anything. The power just isnt there.

 

Sounds like you got one of the bad M6 trans that I hear so much about in the 2002 models. I've posted here to about how I can't even chirp the tires going into second. My trans however shifts smooth but clunks going into gear from a stop which I hear is normal. If you can't get the problem resolved with the dealerships then call the number in the back of the owners manual.
