money too spend...
im about to buy a z28 a4 1998. i got money to spend. i want 600 all motor, thats my goal. then maybe later on top of that run some nos or maybe a supercharger. in your guys opinions what would be the best combination to achieve that 600, go with a stoker or relseeve the block or what?? what heads, intake, cam, etc would you go with...?
For 550-600 RWHP N/A, you'll need a max-effort solid-roller big-inch engine. You'll also need a different transmission because the 4L60E will NOT take that kind of power! We're currently building a 408 cid solid-roller for my SS that will initially see a 200 HP dual-stage nitrous system. It may go up to 250 HP eventually.
We're looking for 700+ RWHP on the 200 HP shot and 9-second timeslips. She should be together and running by the first few weeks in September. We just order the custom pistons this morning from Diamond Racing, and we won't receive them until the end of August.
We will be building a 408 cid LS1 with a ProCharger on a 2002 ZO6 Corvette this fall. That ought to be fun.
We'll post a before and after dyno once it's all finished up. We will not receive the car until the end of September, though, so it will be a few months before it's completed.
It will take a very stout setup to produce and adequately handle 550+ RWHP N/A. It can be done, but it won't be anything that's very street-friendly. FYI, we're looking for 480 RWHP or so N/A through the auto from my 408 cid solid-roller. We're leaving some power on the table with the smaller solid-roller cam that we're going to run, but it will make for a streetable setup that I can drive a lot on the street. I have to be able to drive my car!
