missed a gear

Well guys I have a problem. For the first time in nine years of driving fast cars I missed a shift in the worst way. I was speed shifting into third at full throttle and hit first. The rear locked up and over spun the motor. The rear and tranny seams ok but it did lose some power. The oil pressure and temp are good and the idle is ok but it doesn't sound quite right. I assume that it could have bent the pushrods but I am wonder if anything else could be wrong. The car is a 00 trans am with a stage II H/C package. Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You only bend pushrods when valves hit pistons.. so yes you can have a lot more damage

If thats true do you think it could have damaged the pistons and rods or just bent a vavle?

I bent all my valves and pushrods and needed repair work done to my heads.

You'll probably now be sporting valve reliefs on the pistons.. I didn't get my pistons replaced... THere's a few people running around like that...

Drive it as little as possible, and get it to a shop and checked out.

Exactly... Most people just replace pushrods because of the lack of knowledge and good advice out there. I cant count how many people have pulled heads off further down the road and find out they have been driving 30k miles with bent valves.
