magnaflow sound like straight piped chev pickups?

i have been searching around for a while to find a catback exhaust and i have heard that the magnaflow catback with headers sounds like those chev pickups with straight pipes. if this is true i am going to stay away from magnaflow becuase i hate that sound. Will Jethots, catted X pipe and magnaflow 4x9's sound really good with no rasp?thanks

well lets see...i've had all the exhausts you talk about.

the magnaflow catback on stock manifolds and cats sounds great. nice and mellow around town and roars at WOT. as with just about any free flowing muffler, it will get a bit raspy at the top end.

had the muffler on the car after i put LTs and deleted the cats. still sounded good around town (just a bit louder) but picked up quite a bit of rasp at mid rpm and up (expected with no cats).

i am now running a decent cam, LTs with 3" X pipe and the 4x9s....and it sounds awesome. honestly i don't notice the rasp at all. it is a deep mellow tone and is nice and loud when you're really on it.

I love my magnaflow too. It sounds great. It is all subjective, gotta go hear one.
