MAF Sensor

Ok, I have a weird question. First off, I bought my car used, so I'm not sure what's all been done to it. Anyways, I went and bought a Z06 MAF and the translator and harness yadda yadda, but the only thing they had in the store at the time was the harness adapter from the 5 pin to 3 pin on the MAF sensor. Here's the question, I looked at my current MAF and it already has the exact same harness connected to it. I even switched the harnesses and ran the car fine with it. So, do I already have the Z06 sensor??? Here's the thing, I couldn't find the MAF translator box. Don't you need the translator to run the Z06 MAF??

Chances are the "old" MAF wasn't stock to begin with. I just bought an 85mm and needed the adapter to get it to hook up.
