Question LSX intake

I have been reading about the LSX intake from FAST and since I am planning to upgrade my LS1 with SLP's LS6 I was wondering if the extra money for the LSX would be worth it? I have sufficent outake......I need more air intake. Any opinions?

Re: LSX intake

From what I have heard its about 11rwhp or less of a gain from an LS6. Most of the local guys around here (local guys) still stick with their LS6 because its not worth the extra money. Now if you went with a big power adder or something then I would.

Re: LSX intake

agreed...big cubes or a blower and you may benefit from the LSx

however, car craft or some mag did a side by side test of the ls1, ls6, truck intake, lsx and the holley intakes.

the ls6 and the lsx were within 1hp on a 420hp crate motor.

the truck intake was a bit lower but had more torque, and the holley and about a 1hp gain on the stock ls1 :blah:

1hp doesn't warrent a 2x price tag for the LSx in my opinion...not untill you are knee deep in a $10,000 motor to start with.

Re: LSX intake

So I guess I'll just stick with my orginal plan and get the SLP LS6 intake. I need to keep my EGR. Should I keep my stock throttle body or go with a bigger one?
