I'd definitely wait on it, its a good mod i'm sure but u'll benefit more from other things at this time. The torque converter is gonna give u a good gain at the track as long as u can get it to the ground with DR's or something. My vote is for the headers or stall. They're both gonna make the car more fun to drive, but the headers will be more obvious to other people because the stall is more of a felt mod where the headers are sound also.

lol well, if he were to get one with egr provisions, the tune would be unnecessary.

Sorry, on a 99, would I need EGR provisions? Also, can the LS6 intake be ported?

there's really no need to port it, lots of builders use a factory ls6 intake on 600+hp cars.

and no, you don't NEED one with egr provisions, assuming you plan on removing your EGR system. If you dont' have that plan, then yes, you'd need one with egr.

Well, what are your goals for the car? Is it a daily driver? Do you drag race a lot?

If you like to drag race, the converter & gears would give a better gain, albeit more costly as well. I'm one of the few folks you gained 25-30rwhp/rwtq peak with my LS6 intake on a H/C setup. I see you have the 35mm bar, which isn't a die-hard drag racer mod - but the 25mm rear bar does work better for drag racing.

Like anything, it'll work well with other upgrades. It's an easy swap, but you should be prepared to not see big gains from it until you do heads/cam. If you don't plan on heads/cam, you need to determine if the cost justifies the typical gains for your setup.
