yo fellas, im lookin 2 buy a 02 a4 ws6. if i ended up at a redlight with an 05 gto a4 or a m6 who would come out on top?

 

id get the 02 ws-6

the 05 goat does have 55hp on u but it is also heavier, in teh long run the goat might come out on top but it also depends on driver/launch etc

a few mods to teh ws-6 will get u there fast

besides the ws-6 looks better, meaner ,and handles well with minimal mods

on teh otehr hand the goat is a perfect car for teh median of luxary and power/handling

its really a tossup but i would go with the ws-6

 

Stock for stock, with equal drivers, the GTO wins the race pretty easily. The M6 GTO will hand you your ***.

Between those two cars, I'd recommand that you buy on looks and comfort. Which one "feels right" to you? You can always mod for speed.

That is not accurate. The problem with the LS2 GTO's are that they are heavy (3800 lbs) and the IRS (harder to launch and eats more HP). The 05 GTO's are pulling only high 12's with good drivers which is right in line with what the fastest 02 F-bodies were running. This is from ls2gto's website:

The best LS1 F-body was 12.8 @ 107 if I remember correctly. The only thing the GTO actually has on the F-body is a little more trap speed. But a4 vs a4 and m6 vs m6 the stock times are very comparible to LS1's as far as ET goes.

I say he should go for which ever one he likes the looks of better.

I'd personally go for the WS6 and pass on the extra few ponies of the GTO. I mean, like someone said, you can mod for power, but what mod will make the GTO look as good as an LS1 WS6?

 

Has Evan Smith driven a GTO yet? We can't compare his time in an F-body to someone else's time in a Goat without compensating...

 

I was in shock when I first started looking at the new GTO times. I kept having visions of mid 12's for M6's and high 12's for autos. But when you factor in IRS, 3800 lbs, new motors that might not be fully broken in and really bad torque management issues (a4's) they just don't pull down the impressive track numbers alot of us thought they would.

But I still wouldn't mind having one. New car, LS2 motor, nicely done interior, warranty, ect. I wouldn't mind having one at all.

 

I don't know if he has or not. But alot of people pulled out 12.9 timeslips in F-bodies so I really doubt he would get better then maybe a 12.7 or so. Assuming that was the case I would still hardly call a .1 or even .2 ET difference "handing you your ***". That's still such a tight race that R/T plays a huge factor in who wins or loses.

It's really a drivers race between the two cars. Kind of sucks IMO. I expected more from a LS2.

 

My vote goes to the WS6 anyday of the week. They are a more desirable car at least to me, and look mean, and like a muscle car like they should, unlike the GTO. Don't get me wrong, the goat is a very nice car, I just expected a GTO to look more aggresive than they do.

The 05 a4 is faster than the M6 from the factory and putting a chip (tranny module actually) to remove TM will make that a greater advantage.

My younger brother got an 05 A4 recently. I like the feel of the interior. It is pretty quick but its power is really noticed as the speed increases. I just don't like the looks of it from the back.
