I believe the 2001 and 2002 LS1's are the best years from the factory. They have the revised cam, LS6 intake, and LS6 exhaust manifolds among other improvements. I don't know if any year is better for modding. I think the '99's and 2000's have smaller injectors though.

It depends on how you are modding really. 98s have the biggest injectors if you were wanting to go N2O. 01+ do have the LS6 intake, but I think they made the cam smaller to compensate for it, as they didnt want the F-Body to be faster then the C5. The 01+s usually dyno the highest stock.

True. The 98's have 28# and the newer ones have 26#....is that right for the newer ones??
