LS1 Out The Bottom.

Here is what I promised everyone...I did it a little different this time using the cherry picker instead of a bunch of 4x6s. The cherry picker method worked better actually and was less labor intensive. Still a really easy way to do the swap/change in a 4th gen LT1/LS1. Pics-

One side is cracked, one side has a large hole in it.

How did that happen and how does one notice if their engine has this too?

You will hear a loud crack, your engine wont turn over and oil and water will start to pour of from everywhere. LoL, or at least thats how it happened to me.

Its true, the fastest way to get out an LS1 is to drop the K member. If you know what your doing, and have a lift it can be done in about half an hour.

So what exactly happened to your engine?

The block just cracked when you tried to start your car? Is there a TSB or recall for this?

I found out why my block broke. I guess I pushed it a little to hard, and then starting it that day just finished the job. Guess the 200 jets did their job... ....jk

daaammmnnn.... that sucks dirty yo

if i ever found myself in this spot where i had to replace the engine, i'd probably put in a 502 ci rat, pushing 502hp/567tq... i'd be going through tires like if there were no tomorrow man, lol

you can get one (zz502) for about 6-7 grand, depends where you look.

oo, and by the way... how'd you blow your engine spraying... like, did you miss a shift or something? sux that you ***ed it up though peace out
