I'm assuming the 241 on the head is the casting #...I checked mine, my roomates, and my buddy's....we all have 2001 cars. All the heads say 241

241 Heads not sure? Saw a post that that said they had 241 heads. I looked at my engine and saw the same 241 on my engine head. Does this mean somthing. Thanks!

241 is a casting number for LS1 heads. 2001 and up it seems since mine is an '04.

The LS6 block is also a darker color due to using a different casting method. The improved casting method is to make it stronger. All LS series blocks used the same LS6 casting method after 2002. This was all on one of the Corvette forums a while back. Those guys seem to have a source for details that most of us never hear about.
