I was hoping someone might be able to tell me the height of an LS1 intake assembly from the block deck to the top of the intake system. My father was building a 327 to drag race against my 66 Mustang. (sorry for mentioning "the other brand" ) He passed away a month ago before finishing the project. So I am taking up the project where he left off. And the only donor car I have to house the 327 is my crashed 98 camaro I am putting back together. So Im figuring my biggest problem is going to be intake and carb clearances. Thus my question to all of you about stock LS1 clearances. Need to know what I have to work with. Thank you in advance for the input and my apologies for this very long post.

I don't know what the dimensions are. If you are worried about it you can always get a cowl hood to clear everything. You will need a new k-member for the motor mounts anyway so that will affect the hood clearance also so even if you know the measurement you still won't know the exact clearance you will get with the 327. Good luck on the project.

 

Thanks mullettour for your input... Any suggestions on where to try and get a k-member to adapt to mounting my old style of block?

Try here. They have one that is bare with no motor mounts. I'm not sure if lt1 motor mounts are the same as the 1st gen small block but if they are you can use a k-member from an lt1 f-body.
