ls1 coilpacks??????

ls1 coilpacks??????

Could i use the coilpacks off of a Chevy 5.3 ltr VORTEC truck enging. Are they the same thing??? i need to know because of a good deal for me that my buddy is selling, because he is parting it out.

different part number, but not sure why they are different.

They are a different part # because they're a different
manufacture. There are three manuf for the coils.
Malco, Denso, and Delphi.
The LS1 in Camaro's and Corvette take the Denso coils.
I think the biggest difference is spark plug wire length
needed. The coils look considerably different, not sure
about output.

They will work fine. I know of some people with LS1s who have used the Vortec coil packs in a coil relocation project.

good to know. i assumed it'd work also, but wasn't positive. i did see the different manufacture's also.
