LS1 Carbon Fiber Lid
LS1 Carbon Fiber Lid
I just got an SLP Lid from Thunder Racing.
The insisited that I also purchase the small filter that has about a 1" Dia tube on the side and is a circular K&N about 3" in Diameter.
The Existing and New Lid both have a hole on the right side but the existing one has something electronic that I guess I'll have to change over as it's held in place with a rubber grommet (this is even mentioned in the instructions)
Where does the small K & N Filter Go?

The small K&N filter goes on the line to the AIR pump (Hose that comes off the driver's side (if I remember right) of the factory lid) if your lid doesn't have the nipple for it
You'll likely have to zap-strap the line up out of the way
hope this helps

The small hole with the electronics in it is the Incoming Air Temperature sensor commonly refered to as the IAT. Carefully wiggle that out of it's gromment and install the grommet and sensor into the new lid.
Now on the side of your old lid is a 3/4" hose that goes off under the front corner of the car. That's the intake hose for your Air Induction Reaction pump commonly refered to as AIR pump. This hose is where the little filter goes then you can situate and zip tie it where it's out of the way and looks ok.
