Just got a chance to look for that casting number and found that mine is a LS6 block. So what I have gathered, that means that this and a dollar will get me a cup of coffee. Not really any difference between the LS1 and LS6? Although, I guess its a nice conversation peace.

Actually, according to a GM engineer that was on video and on the Chevy website, the LS6 casting gives your car larger windows btw the cylinder walls.. thats a good thing..

The LS6's aluminum block casting deletes machined holes in the LS1 bulkhead and adds cast-in "windows" that allow better bay-to-bay breathing. On the down stroke, the pistons push air back toward the crankcase, creating back pressure that translates into parasitic power loss. With the windows, air is allowed to move more freely between crankcase bays, reducing back pressure.
