Lowering a car with LongTubes

Okay I have LTs and want to start making my car handle a little better. Im thinking of doing swaybars and springs first and eventually shocks funds permitting. Now the problem with springs would be is that they would lower my car about 1-2 inches depending on the setup. Would I be able to clear with LongTubes. Anyone that has a lowered car with LongTubes please let me know any problesm that came up.

from what i have read you should be fine with the hooker long tubes. i will probably be getting a set of those and my car is lowered 2 inches and i hope it is gunna be ok. what kin of springs were you planning on getting? i have suspension techniques 1.5 in front 2 in the back. i must say thought it does look a lot lower than 2 inches in the back when it is side by side my buddys 99 SS that has not been lowered.

I have the sportlines which are a 1.8 inch drop and also run the FLP longtubes. I drive around with no trouble whatsoever. Today was my first attempt with the LT on going over a speed bump, I have very slight scrape for abour an inch and went over fine. Im sure if you get less of a drop (prokit) you could get around even easier.

Good luck,
Mark

Hooker long tubes and Eibach Prokit,no troubles driving around town, but be carefull on speed bumps(nice and slow). They touch ,but only sometimes.
Hope this makes you feel a little better.

I have the Eibach Prokit on my 2000 SS w/SLP Longtubes, and there are no probs driving around, but like previous posts, they do tend to touch a little bit on speed bumps, but nothing to worry about

I have very little problem with speed bumps...but I'm not lowered. The only thing that scrapes is the y-pipe where it dips a little right after the driver's side primary. Its not really the LTs themselves that scrape, its the y-pipe. You should be ok but still avoid those speed bumps regardless.
