Post Lou's short stick...

Just wanted to note that Lou has some of the best customer service there is. He makes a first rate product and is an all around great guy.

You can't go wrong by getting a Short Stick.

Love it, put it on today and it looks and shifts alot nicer

2000 Black Trans Am, M6, SLP loudmouth exhaust, short shifter, HPP3 programming, suncoast Ram Air hood and kit, EGR mod, MAF ends. Getting SLP level 1 suspension, SBC, and AR XR Lemans RIMS, 17x11's rear 17X9" fronts!
So far only 1/4 mile time is 13.5 at a 106mph...terrible 60' times, need to improve.

I think it would make shifting harder and besides all it is is a bent rod with 2 holes in it (certainly not worth $50). I trust GM more than some guy named Lou looking for a quick gimic. Just my outlook. I do agree that it make the shifter look better though.

Lou's Short Stick looks and feels alot better than stock. Works great w/ the factory Hurst shifter. The shifter just clicks into each gear. It's a must do mod for the M6 Camaro's.

well, if you guys say it's worth it then i may make one for myself. i like the stock because it allows your elbow to piviot on the armrest and it seems like the shortstick would force your arm down and to bend your arm at an odd angle plu add friction between your arm and the armrest.

WhoBetter if you plan to race get rid of that POS stock shifter or you may learn the hard way by going from 3rd to 2cd instead of 4th at high RPM and break something. I have Lou's short stick in my 2000 SS on an SLP shifter and love the setup also Lou is graet to deal with.

Mods? Well...yes, enough mods to have MAD horsepower.
More mods to come? Well..yes, working on achieving INSANE horsepower.

The shorter handle is angled forward so it's not a problem. I made my own:

you cannot be serious, anyone who would do that is just a horible driver, the biggest problem i have with the hurst shifter is downshifting but i'm even getting better at that. I am going to make one myself out of aluminum.

replacing the entire handle eliminates the 'isolator' at its base, which literally gives the factory shifter the rubbery feeling that makes people want to buy and entirely new shifter.

Evidently, some of you are handier with tools and have far more time on your hands than I do. If so, that's great!

My original point wans't whether one should or shouldn't "manufacture" a mod on their own or not, my point is that if you want a shorter stick (I did) and don't have the time to experiment with different lengths, angles, materials, etc., you can't go wrong with Lou.

As I look at my own organization, I hope that we do as good a job in taking care of customers as does Lou. He is a first class guy and he builds a darn good product.
