Loudmouth Gains

What rwhp gains can I expect from a loudmouth system?

This is for a 2000 SS with a whisper lid.

yeah, that sounds about right. Keep in mind that SLP designed the LM for LS1 cars to remain mostly stock, so if you plan on any major mods, or already have them, the hp gains and the sound may be disapointing.

how would the hp gains be dissapointing?

from what ive read, as long as you keep your cats it should sound ok.

i honestly doubt 15hp out of a catback...its like putting a funnel at the end of a straw and pouring water through the straw first...most catbacks dyno at 5-10hp tops on a stock car. Manifold, a crushed ypipe and 2 cats isnt thee most efficient way to get exhaust 5 ft from the engine compartment to where the catback would start lol JMO. Loudmouths do sound good though kinda raspy without cats but still sound pretty good.

Yep, when I went with the OR y-pipe I replaced the res. with a dynomax bullet and added resonator tips. Doesn't sound too bad now.

I listened to a loudmouth exhaust the other day and I wasn't very impressed. I love the tips, but the sound was disappointing, it was very raspy and not at all what I was expecting. I was actually considering getting one before that, but now I think a novel idea would be one of those electric cutouts. Some guy in an orange ss opened his at a streetlight the other day and the sound was obnoxiously loud. It definitely got my attention
