I've worried about it since I got the car. Even if the pump turns out to be ok, I'm still going to replace it as soon as I can. I don't need my car to have a heart attack!

Yeah, its on my list of things to do in the future. The car sees probably 800mi a year so its something that I keep putting off. I better just do it though or it will bite me in the *** one of these years.

AC is busted and leaking oil. The pulley must have frozen up and kept the belt from turning. That would explain the steering going out and the oil pressure dropping. I guess the engine was cutting off.

Do you think it's ok to drive as long as I don't run the AC? I really want to go get some lunch

The leak (notice the bubble):

i would not run it at all until you fix it, if it seizes up it will burn the belt right off, like it already tried to do, hence the smoke.

sit back, drink one of those beers and order a compressor

As long as I don't run the AC and the compressor clutch doesn't try to engage, shouldn't it be safe, more than likely anyways?

Hmmm....I didn't realize that. Thanks

I took the AC compressor fuse out. Car runs fine. Now i need to change the compressor. Also, the heater door in the dash is stuck and not letting cold air into the car

I've got some work to do
