Loss of bottom end!?
Well, I've lost my bottom end....racing the same mustangs that I would hang right with off the line last year, I now find myself falling far behind off the line, the car also feels bogged down and cannot do a brakestand without quickly bogging or gaining traction.
The only change I made since last season was pacesetter LT's, 3 inch OR Y-pipe and TSP rumbler cat-back, so the car has no mufflers or cats and emissions stuff removed, could this cause a loss of backpressure that affects power curve significantly?
only other engine mod is K&N FIPK 2, I have fake o2 sensors, and the car hasn't been tuned ever.

Re: Loss of bottom end!?
NO, you should be making better power throughout the powerband. the only thing that really effects a loss/gain in a specific RPM area is timing and camshafts. If I'm wrong please correct me
Re: Loss of bottom end!?
you didn't put the o2 sims on the front sensors did you ?
may sound like a stupid question, but from some of the stupidity i've seen on this board...it really isn't.
is you trans slipping??

When was the last time the plugs and filters (fuel included) were changed? Have you ever cleaned your intake tract sensors?
Re: Loss of bottom end!?
hmm, yeah, the O2 sims are on the back, not the front....
perhaps it is just dirty MAF, how would one clean the detector thing in there without wrecking it?
Tranny feels good, I guess it could be something as simple as dirty air/fuel filters, they probably both are....
and yes, as I understand LT's should really increase bottom end

Re: Loss of bottom end!?
I cleaned my MAF by ramoving it, taking 91% isopropyl alcohol and some cotton swabs with VERY gentle wiping in a rolling motion. Other people have used carb cleaner and just sprayed it down a couple time letting the dirt dissolve off more and more with every spray. I got a huge throttle response/torque boost down low when I cleaned the maf and ported my TB
Re: Loss of bottom end!?
Headers and no cats will not increase your bottom end they will actually take torque away from your bottom end. Please take the work back pressure out of your vocabulary it has nothing to do with performance on our cars.
