Looking for a locking gas cap for the TA. This pisses me off!
Well, they say that rough times bring out the best, and the worst, in everyone. Anyway, the other morning I filled my gas tank on the way to work. When I got off, I started my car and found it odd that my gas gauge was between a 1/4, and 1/2 a tank when I only drove 30 miles. So, I got out, and looked under the car, no puddle. Thinking that it might be a problem with the gauge itself, I took it to the gas station and filled it up. I pumped in 10 gallons of fuel. I've been off the last two days and no occult fuel loss has occurred. So, all I can figure is that someone must've helped themselves to 10 gallons of 93 octane. I'm pissed!
Anyway, I checked my local Po-Dunk auto stores for a locking gas cap but they don't stock one for a 99 Trans AM or Camaro. They offered to order me one but I thought I'd check online first. From what I've read, the Stant locking cap seems to work best with our cars. Does anyone have a link to an online site where I can purchase this cap? Afterall, why should I have the parts store do it when I can do it myself?
Any help appreciated!
Tony

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=112&ptset=A That's the cheapest one I found online and is about what I paid for mine. It might be cheaper just to get it through the store if it is near by because the store won't charge you shipping.
