little confused on this intake...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-L...43747519QQrdZ1

now it is listed as a ls1 intake, but it has a flat bottom like a ls6. does anyone think this intake will show a gain like a ls6?

Re: little confused on this intake...

There was a huge thread on this intake on ls1tech.com a while back. Just so you know , this intake is made in china. Do a search over there and get ready to do a lot of reading!

Re: little confused on this intake...

the metal intakes arent worth it generally... I MIGHT buy that weird ebay one and port all the casting flash off for my build someday simply because it looks great and shows gains near that of an LS6.

The metal intakes ARE worth it though, if you're going to go with a very high nitrous shot or heavy positive manifold pressure.

Remember, metal soaks heat and the plastic intakes do not.

The heat soak theory is way over rated, alluminum intakes have been around a long time making serious HP , so take the heat soak issue with a grain of salt. The only real big difference is the weight of the alluminum verses plastic.
