When I dynoed my car there were a few stock SS and WS6 there also and there numbers were between 307 and 320 rwhp, I made 312 rwhp with just those two mods and mine is an A4 with 3.23s.

Sweet thanks! Yah mine is a A4 too with the 3.23 gears. I was just wondered if i had those two mods along with a k&n air filter if I could race SS's and WS6's.

Yes you can. You should be nose-to-nose with them.

Re: Lid and catback exhaust

need an SLP or equivilant Mass Air Flow sensor. That in conjunction with lid/filter will get you poss 20 hp

Re: Lid and catback exhaust

You clearly do not know much about these cars. All the engines are the same, the '01 and '02 LS1's are internally identical between the Z28 and SS and WS6, etc. The minute differences are an SLP exhaust, which gives you slightly better flow, and a forced air induction system. Those two things give you maybe 10HP edge over a regular Z28. 10HP is not enough to win a race, too many other factors come into play, gearing, engine condition, auto or manual, driver skill, tires, weigh, etc!

On a Z28 adding an SLP lid will give you 4-7WHP, not really enough that you'll feel a difference. Adding the SLP LM1 or LM2, some of the lightest and most free flowing exhausts out there will decrease low end torque slightly but increase mid-range torque, and at the same time give you a slight bump in HP. Maybe 10WHP tops, this is without a tun. So at best, maybe 17WHP, average would 10WHP between these two mods. Not enough to make a huge difference, but it is a good start and they are the foundation of building a faster car, with headers, tune, cam, gears, etc.
