Smile Let's see your cam specs/HP #s!!

I just got a set of MMS Stage II heads and am looking for a good cam. What do you N/A guys have for street/strip cams? I'm looking for something that makes power up to around 6600 rpm or so.

I have a comp cams 222/222 @.050 with a 112LSA
and on just hand ported and polished heads make power until I hit the rev limiter at 6600. I also hear good things about the Thunder Racing 224/224, but you will need some reprogramming to get the full potential of either of these cams. dyno numbers in sig.

I run the GTP "PIG" cam. It pulls like a raped ape up top and lopes bad ***! its specs are 591/591 226/226 112. Awsome cam, and it has a good record so far with people like Moose at LS1tech who ran an 11.1 with 3.73's and no tuning and George C who ran a 10.8 with it. I hope to be in the tens with it soon now that I am about to get a nine inch with 4.56's in it

ARE Stage 2 Heads with a Comp Cam XER 224 224 114LSA .581. 403RWHP and 372RWTQ. Losses due to bigger exhaust ports on the heads and 1 7/8 headers. Most of the mods are listed on my website.

The "PIG" cam is not as streetable IMO as a thunder 224 cam and the such but again IMO and based on its track record it produces faster numbers. I highly suggest you ask for Chris B at Speed Demon, a sponsor on the ls1tech.com site, or page him on this site in the LT1 section. He helped in designing the cam and knows more than anybody else about it! Like I said before, it has cars with a good set of heads and tuning in the LOW LOW 11's(like 11.1..scratching tens).Alot of the guys with this cam and weight reduction, have hit tens with it. I have ben doing weight reduction in order to hit those elusive tens this fall! It's a really good track car cam and still makes drivability not to bad on the street. You will need a good set of gears though...atleast 4.10's in an M6. Figz, I believe is what he goes by on the boards, with some problems and no tuning made 419 rwhp on the dyno at only 5400 rpms...imagine what it coulda done at more rpm and tuning!! I would definately suggest this cam to anyone who is serious on making the numbers.
Another cam you might want to consider asking Chris at Speed Demon about is the "PIGLET" cam, this cam has also produced some great numbers on the dyno, but no times yet at the track that I am aware of.

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 224/224 .561/.561 112 LSA 1700-6600 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Requires computer tuning on automatic transmission cars. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. View Dyno Graph
