Leaves are getting into my vents. Have a lcicking noise when my vent motor is on.Help
Since my car sits under a tree at my house (No Garage) I get a lot of leaves and those little helicopter spinner things that fall off the branches on onto my car. A few of these have worked themselves into my vent and now when I run my vent motor I hear them moving aound in the dash.
A few years ago the dealer cleaned the leaves out for me, but how they want money to do it and I don't want to drop 100.00 on labor to do it. I think he opened a panel under the glovebox. I remember that it didn't take him too long to do it
Out of cuiriosity, I pulled the panel out below the dash and saw what looked to be the box where the air would pass through. Is this what I need to open up to clear out the leaves? Its surounded by wires and what looks to be the radio antenna line.
Could someone give me some tips on how to open this up? The car is a 01 Camaro.
Thanks!

It's a simple fix, so don't pay anyone to do it.
You're correct, pull the panel off under the glove box. On the right side, you'll see a round cover that has 3 screws up at the very top...there's also a 2 or 3 prong plug going to it. That is the actual fan motor assembly. Remove the 3 screws, unplug the motor and it will drop right out. The leaves are usually stuck in the fan motor. Once it's out, you'll see them immediately, and just pull them out and put it all back together. It'll take about 10-15 mins for the entire job.
Good luck!
