Learn somthin new everyday

I thought i had to buy a whole new exhaust system... BUT I just got to thinking, wait a minute I have the SLP package so all I'll need is a muffler.. any suggestions to which one and how much it will cost me to get it installed?

I was thinking spintech but I have no clue how much a muffler plus install will cost..

Can you buy SLP loudmouth muffler or do you have to buy the whole system? Or what about Corsa? Can you buy just a Corsa muffler? thanks alot for your help I plan on doing somthin tomorrow so all your help is greatly appreciated

ahh and if you guys could maybe tell me which setup would be the best way to go for RWHP numbers

Loudmoth is just a resonator, so IDK if you can just get the muffler. Spintech is a great choice. I think www.ls1speed.com has them for sale. I think it should only be like 30 bucks to install just the Muffler. Hooker also has a great sounding muffler out there.

Cool

Purely a matter of taste. I love the sound of the Flowmaster and therefore I have one.

Hp gains from just a muffler are pretty much debatable...

Just try to get to listen live to as many mufflers as you can then make your decision.

Good luck!

I LOVE MY FLOWMASTER ! It sounds really good. Loud, but not obnoxious.

Cost about $250 installed with custom chrome tips.

I had a Flowmaster 80 series, but changed to Dynomax. Dynomax claims better airflow without that 2K rpm drone the Flowmaster puts out. It's still got a nice note at WOT.

I really like tghe sound of the SLP Performance Parts Dual Dual exhaust, not the factory option Dual Dual(that one is to quiet). You can also try an exhaust cutout in the intermediate pipe. I have a 99 SS and a 00 Ws6. The Ws6 has a complete full OEM exhaust(not even a Dual Dual), just the standard WS6 exhaust and I have a cutout in the intermediate pipe. It really turns heads and sounds pretty damn good for $25.00. I have heard of some people removing their cats and installing a bullet muffler in the intermediate pipe and then a ZED-style cutout near the pass. tailpipe. Kepp a close on the the www.ls1tech.com classified forum; there are guys on there often selling just the rear section of Dual Duals. You can also try a Hooker exhaust , I hear it's sweet too!
