Keyless Entry

This morning I went into the garage and clicked unlock on my keyless entry remote to get into my car. Nothing happened. Tried several times yet nothing. I opened the car using the key and the alarm went off. I still havent been able to get it to work and every time i use the key to open the door the alarm goes off. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Did you try to reset the key fob?

I know this sounds dumb, but did you check your fob battery?

To avoid having the alarm go off when opening the doors stick the key in the ignition quickly after opening the door. I'm not sure exactly how much time it gives you, but it's enough. Or you can not set the alarm by locking the doors manually by flipping the locks yourself (not pressing the button, the door lock/unlock button will set the alarm as the the keyless does when locking the car, but actually pushing the tabs that pop out w/orange on them back in).

Has your keyless entry's range been decreasing? Maybe some new batteries?

It gives you 8 seconds to put the key in the ignition from the time you unlock the door, but for some dumb reason there is a second option which makes the alarm go off right when you unlock the door I read about it in my car manual. If you don't have a car manual reply back and I will get it out and explain ow to change your car back to the 8 second setting. As for the key fob I don't really know but I would change the battery first then I would reset it. When you use your keyless entry it goes around the 8 second or 0 second timer in your case.
