Post JUst got it!!, i hope it works fine

I just got my Richmond 3.73 gears today and I am so anxious to put them in this week. (just waiting to buy hpp3 cheap somewhere)
I heard those gears whine a little bit, but that doesnt bother me, what about performace increase, will i feel it?
thanks

What the gear gods giveth, the gear gods taketh.

All things being equal you'll pick up about .05 to .1 and about 1.5 mhp at the top end. You'll lose about 1 mph on the short half of the track and you'll get about an extra .03 on your 60s.

Been there, done that. What you're going to see is that you will consistantly run around what your best time has been and the spread on your 60s will be a lot tighter.

I have 4.10s in my car....and wholy crap did it wake the car up. I'm not sure about times yet, as I haven't been - but the seat of the pants feeling is wayyyyyyyyy up there.

But when you get that extream, get ready to do your suspension to hook up....as that is what I am doing now. I just installed everything in my sig as of today. The car is at the shop getting the sub-frame connectors welded on. Now, sub frame connectors won't help help you hook up by themsleves, but they do play an important role in your overall suspension set up.

I think you'll like the gears....btw, when I got my gears, I had to buy a HPP to adjust them.....but the local GM dealers around here said that they could have programmed my car if it had 3.73s. I'd call around and see if you can just get the programming done. I couldn't hurt.

Milo.

oh yeah, afcourse.
I am getting SFC (stiffend the body) and LCA( to help me with the hooking up and not spining -power to the ground).
Hpp3 is what I will probably get to adjust my gears.
we shall see how is going to feel, i hope that i like it...I really dont want to spend 500$ and gain nothing.

Look at www.thunderracing.com, they sell a speedometer recalibrator from SLP for 150, have never used it or seen it, but its better than 350 for the hpp3, especially if you have an M6.

I tried the SLP speedo calibrator before I bought the HPP3, and it caused problems for me. It was inexact in the speedo correction, and it caused my cruise control to non-functional about 80% of the time. Removed it, and everything worked fine again. Very strange.

oh, I will try to buy used 98hpp3, but i need one asap. gears are just waiting for hpp3 to arrive and the car is ready to be operated. I got A4 so I will get hpp3 for the rest of the options( speed limiter, adjusting shift points.etc...)

so, I am spending about $500 on this gears swap, it better be worth it..I read many good gains about it, i hope that happens to me as well. i am going from 2.73 to 3.73 and I also got 3500stall TC..

i can't wait to have it done though!
