331.8 rwhp corrected for 4.10 gears (assuming 2% loss)

Mods:
Lid, filter, cat-back, 160* thermo, cutout propped open about 1/4" on the bottom (for sound).

What did you do in regards to FRA, free thermostat, auto fan switch, TB bypass, and Fernco?

I just had mine done yesterday. Here are my numbers.

Last year I had a lid and K&N ran 310.3 RWHP and 325.6 Torque

After the lid install I had put a Corsa on her and ran 331 RWHP and 345.6 Torque. Needless to say I was WAY IMPRESSED with my numbers as Corsa claims to add 14 HP. Looks like I got 21 more.

Update:

After my header install I dynoed at 323 rwhp and 341 tq. My car is running rich and is hovering around 11.9 in the mid/upper rpm's. I will be putting on some ported MAF ends soon to help lean it out.

- My '98 Z28 dynoed 293RWHP/303TQ stock, with the lid off, on a dynojet. 116MPH limit due to 235/55/16 tires.

- It dynoed 326/351 on a Mustang dyno, with 1999 CNC ported heads, 216/220 cam, completely stock exhaust, no tuning (10/23/99). The 351 seems to have been a spike, and the normal tq was around 330. The ignition lead dropped three times on the run. Peak power was at 5750, and I don't recall what we did to get it past 5400RPM. Perhaps the pull was in 3rd, but I don't recall asking them about the VSS....and I drove it while on the dyno, so I know I stayed out of 5th.

- It dynoed 301/299 on a portable dynojet, with same mods as on the Mustang dyno (11/27/99). VSS definitely disconnected to avoid speed limiter. Lost 20HP/29TQ when dynoing in 3rd gear compared to 4th.

- Dynoed 366/344 on another dynojet (12/30/00), same heads, 218/226 cam, longtubes, TB, Lid, MAF, cutout, Ed Wright tuning

- Dynoed 391/368 on same dynojet as previous, except adding LS6 intake (2/10/01).

- Best dyno was 402/378 (10/04/01), same mods.

- Latest dyno (09/14/02) is 391/370. I believe the BBK TB broke after the last dyno (went back to stock), and also added MAFT, and Ed Wright tweaked some things on his dyno in Jan 2002. But, bad gas caused excessive pinging and couldn't tune WOT. Difference between my cutout on the stock I-pipe and stock cat-back (cutout capped) is 25/20. AFR on latest pull is slightly rich between 2500 & 3700, slightly too lean until 5600, then slightly rich again until 6800.

- Installed Shaner S2 truck TB (09/14/02) while on dyno, but 0 learning miles on car. Gained 3HP, lost 3TQ. Switched back to complete stock MAF & ends. No further testing at this time.
