Ill be getting a 3 3/4 inch tach next month as a present and wanted to know how to install it. I havnt done much research on it and any help would be greatly appreciated. Itll have a shiftlite on it also, thanks.

i had a 3/34 inch in my other camaro... its pretty simple.....autometer packages their tachs with 4 wires sticking out of the back.... i dont remember the colors but the directions tell u anyway....one wire goes to the coil or tach input on an aftermarket ignition....another wire goes to the ignition switch. the third goes to any 12v source for the dash lighting and the 4th goes to a good ground....the directions make it pretty straightforward to install....i didnt use a shift light so i couldnt tell ya about that one but thats supposedly pretty easy too....something about just plugging the right little module intot the shiftlight for the right RPM....the whole job shoudl takes u the better part of a day to do it right....good luck...

 

i think there is something you have to do because the voltage it sends out is different or something. i remember reading about it. do a search, that will be your best bet.
