I hate LS1's Already HELP!!
I feel for yall, i shoot tons of nitrous into my motor everyother weekend and the only problem i had was a transmission mount shredding into pieces.
I replaced it w/ one from energy supension and its all been good ever since.

Thats why i've always said that the LT1 takes more abuse. I would rather drive a moded LT1 if i was going to drive it even to a mild agressive manor>>>
An LS1 is no less durable than an LT1, and can take just as much, if not more abuse. I've put over 160,000 HARD miles on two (alltogether) and they have far exceeded my expectations.

And 'most' LS1 owners will agree, well, at least the ones who appreciate their cars.
I love my LS1! Takes more abuse than my old 5.0 GT. The only thing that sucks is traction>>>
I rest my case.
I also hate my LS1>>>
Werd
Only 3600 miles and the clutch is toast>>
And this has what to do with the LS1?
Warped front rotors>>>
And this has what to do with the LS1?
Also part of the back bumper is brown not black>>>

I've though about getting rid of it already>>
If thats how you feel toward such a car, then maybe you should.
Sorry, but if you wanted automotive engineering perfection, you were a fool to buy an F-body in the first place. When I bought my car, I knew exactly what I was getting into.. and I was more than willing to sacrifice the problems for the performance. I love my car, and always will.. despite its shortcomings. Its a blast to drive, reliable, looks awesome, and puts a grin on my face everytime I get inside. If you dont like it, buy a Camry.

Easy man! I said i hate ls1 cars so it would catch peoples attention and read my post. Not cuz i really hate them. I have been reading about LS1 for few a few months b4 i bought this and new what i was getting. Just couldnt figure out were the leak was, and i found it. So its all fixed. And was at the track this past weekend and ran a 13.6 bone stock with it at like 106 mph. traction sucked cuz its lowered and does not have relocaton brackets and the rear shock are toast to ****. Only pulled a best of 2.17 60ft which blows but im taking care of it.
Sorry for the above post, blood pressure went up after reading a similar thread on LS1.com... the piston slap issue is HUGE over there. You know, after 5 years the subject gets old and I'm just sick of people complaining about something that may never cause a problem. As I've just stated on LS1l.com, the piston slap has yet (that I know of) to cause premature engine failure or excessive engine ware. Furthermore, as the experts have pointed out...most GM engines (including the 60 degree V6s and the genII 3800) emit a slap/knock when cold and I have links from 6 other automobile manufacturers who have customer complaints regarding piston slap and even oil consumption... including allmighty Toyota. Every GM vehicles Ive previousely owned and even my Ford had piston slap (my 90 Coupe De Ville had rod knock, REALLY loud... lasted 200,000+ miles) Again, I knew F-bodies werent perfect... I knew they rattled, squeaked, clunked, and I knew about the LS1s cold engine slap before I bought mine. I'v owned 3 F-bodies alltogether (first being a 3.4 V6) so I knew from experience that they were plagued with little problems and noises. I didnt care, I bought my car for the performance, style, and just overall feel of an F-body. I feel that my car has been die hard dependable and feel that I have gotten more than my moneys worth and I'd buy another LS1 in a heart beat. On a side note, if the piston slap worsens or fails to go away when the engine warms up, then I agree that there is definitely a problem. I am mostly referring to the slap that is apparent when the engine is first started and faded into a slight tapping noise when engine reaches full operating temp.
