HP for mods!

Hi guys, I just recently joined the forums. Right now, I own an 05 V6 mustang that's a high 14sec car. I am parting out all my performance parts in that car and getting an LS1 Z28 by the end of April/early May. I know some stuff about performance but not much. I had headers, duals, gears, t-lok, aluminum driveshaft, cai, and a few more performance mods on the V6 stang do I know a little. After I get the car I will have $3.5k-$4k for mods. I am looking to get the most hp per dollar I can. I am not very handy with cars so the most I will be able to do is probably swapping intake manifold, possibly heads, and installing a cai. Can you guys name what gains I could see from these mods and what gains I could see from some mods together (ex: heads and cam):
-patriot or other brand P&P heads
-Cam
-intake manifold
-cai
-longtube headers
-mufflers
-throttle body
Thanks ahead for any help!

As far as gains from Exh, H/c and intake upgrade.... 370-450 RWHP depending on H/C and tune.. PRO's have reached 500 rwhp.. but with a LOT of tuning and research! It's Mostly the cam, tho... What are your goals, what do you want the car to do? 1/4 Mile? AutoX? Street setup? Roll Monster?

GO with a mid range cam.. There are a LOT of guys that are over-caming these cars now days and sacrificing drivability and/or low end power.. GET A GOOD TUNE!!! W/ a cam, it's ALL IN THE TUNE!!!

Other options... I'll just rattle some off...

98-00 F-Bodies need the LS6 intake
01-02 F-Bodies come stock w/ the LS6 intake..
FAST 90/90 intake for H/C and larger displacement, flows slightly more than LS6.

CAI is almost stock on all LS1's.. You could add a Super sucker Ram Air, aka SSRA. Similar gains from all free mods.

P+P'd stock TB is a nice improvement.

Under drive pulleys.

LT's, go with pacesetters, Flowtech or Jet hots. Best bang for the buck.

For a Y pipe, go with a merge collected Y. If you want duals, scratch the Y idea. X pipe for performance H pipe for sound.

Catback, Magnaflow CB is a good bang for the buck. Hooker Arerochamber flows GREAT.

First thing to do is to look at your car as a whole. Build the whole car up not just add power to the engine. There are mods like gears and converter that don't add HP but make a big difference in performance.

Second, is to build your engine up as a whole. I watched a guy build up a 408 and throw all sorts of big name go fast parts at it. The problem was they didn't work that great together and it ended up being a turd. So find a shop you trust and ask questions and take their advice.

stick with leaving it stock for a bit and get used to it. You go from the v6 stang to a ls1 with heads and cam your going to kill yourself.
