headers and Y pipe

what would the difference be if i only had headers with no off road y pipe and just kept my magnaflow setup with pacesetter headers?

Headers are definitely one of the best bang for your buck mods. ORY does help, but it should be noticeable regardless. What car do you have, what headers are you getting, mids, LT's?

I am not too familiar with header installation on an LS1, but long tubes might require replacing/modifying the factory y-pipe. Someone will chime in and make it more clear. As I said, regardless, some pacesetter LT's alone will definitely be a gain.

there is basically no way to mate the stock ypipe up to long tubes.

so basically....you have to get one.

If they are going to do a visual, then you would want to get the catted y-pipe. However, you could still fail emissions because the cats are not in their respective factory locations.

Hopefully you don't live in Cali, otherwise you can toss the whole idea of LT's and start shopping around for shortys or mids.

Performance will be very good improvement, as for sound, that is always a matter of preference but that combo usually has good things said about it.

there's some combos that work with pacesetters. you can get the combo from TSP with an ORY or with a catted Y, whichever you prefer. you could look around and see if there are other Y-pipes that will fit with the pacesetters, or you could also get a custom one fabbed up at a local exhaust shop. the choice is yours... hope i helped

You're in for a treat, performance over stock will be noticeable, and the sound will be sweet. I like the way mangaflow sounds.

magnaflow will sound good with cats. without them it tends to get a bit raspy on the top end.

nothing horrible, just the nature of a very free flowing system.

figure going from bone stock exhaust to LTs, catted Ypipe, and a magnaflow exhaust...25hp to the wheels.

I just went with the Pacesetters with the X-pipe to true duals. I think the X-pipe/true dual is around $450, then there's no need for any other exhaust concerns.
