Usually 7-10 rwhp, one of the best cost-effective mods for LS1 f-bodies.
Also, the last GM High Tech Performance mag. (not the current one) had a side by side aftermarket lid comparison. If you want more info. you might want to see if they have the write up on their site.
I think its www.gmhightechperformance.com

here's what i gained with the VHP airlid and polyfoam filter
dyno of airlid and filter do not pay attention to the torque peak gain. that's a flare at the begining of the run.

If you really want to set the affects of the lid off , do the free ram air mod at the same time . You wont beleive the difference on the highway with both of these mods . With the combo it had to be a good 20 HP gain on my car .

Nice. I cant wait till i get it now. I held off on the SSRA cause i heard it makes your car run hot. Should I just do it anyway?

Yep, it hasn't effected the temp on mine at all.

A friend of mine wanted to try my SLP lid at the track before he bought it from me, he gained a solid tenth and 1.5mph out of it in the 1/8th.
Just because they saw different result doesn't mean its useless, every car is different. I thought they did that article very well.

Will an aftermarket lid hurt gas milage or emissions?

Should increase gas mileage. I don't know about emissions.

I installed mine with the KN air filter since I was tired of spending money on air filters... after 35000 miles with the "Z" it probably paid off..... the lid is fine, not sure about the HP gains but I believe it's worth a few ponies - it doesn't hurt, that's for sure... and without the silly silencers between the lid and the throttle body it looks all right... so at least some kind of gain...
